Me, Zac, Donna P, Sam and Donna are taking part in the Great North Run half marathon for Kirkwood Hospice on the 10th of September. We are doing the race in memory of my mum, Clare Standring. My mum was only 46 when she first got diagnosed with cancer, and passed away four months later. It was such a horrible, devastating time for myself and all her family and friends. My mum spend her last two weeks at Kirkwood hospice, which were the hardest two weeks of my life. However, they gave her the best quality care, her needs and wishes respected and nothing we asked was too much for the hospice. She felt comfortable there and we had some special times there as a family. I just feel like the hospice deserve all the fundraising and dontions they can get so they can continue to provide amazing care to people and families with a horrible illness or facing difficult times like we did.

Just a little contribution will help us massively! I am not a runner at all so it is going to me a challenge for myself and all of us but we will try our hardest to do it in memory of my mum. Thank you so much. Xxxxx
